about us

Our sanctuary pack

Rescue. Rehab. Rehome. Repeat.

For 10 years, we’ve been rescuing large working dogs—mainly Great Pyrenees and Akbash—left behind, injured, or lost from sheep herds across south-central Idaho.

We take in the forgotten ones, give them medical care, rebuild trust through love and socialization, and find them the safe, happy homes they deserve.

Our 8 permanent sanctuary crew members are here for life, and many more come through our doors on their way to a second chance.

We also work with local sheep companies to push for better treatment of these incredible dogs.

We won’t give up.

We are their voice.

Unega is the only livestock guardian dog rescue in Idaho.
